The BVHA Chooses New JVP

The BVHA is pleased to announce that Mike Jackson, BVMS, MRCVS  is the new JVP.

Mike qualified from Glasgow University Veterinary School in 2004 and headed down to London where he spent a number of years working in Small Animal practice – initially in a large group then in some excellent smaller practices.

As a recent-graduate Mike focussed on an interest he had developed at University - exotic medicine and surgery, specifically reptiles and was considering a career based in that specialty when a call from his old pals back in Glasgow (with an offer of partnership) brought him ‘back up the road’.

Over the intervening eight years Mike has developed a passion for Practice development, management, marketing and design. He and his partners have taken their original small but busy practice with just seven members of staff to the West of Scotland’s largest independent veterinary group. The Pets’n’Vets Family is structured in the classic hub and spoke model with the Roundhouse Veterinary Hospital at it’s centre.

Mike has been a member of the BVHA team since 2018. He would like to say that:

“I am incredibly excited to be starting my term as JVP for the BVHA. I am passionate about the role that Veterinary Hospitals play in our field and am honoured to be able to represent them at this new level.  My primary aims will be to engage with the BVHA Membership on the matters that concern us the most, to push forward the public profile of Accredited Hospitals status and to promote positive design in Veterinary workspaces as a means to improving team wellbeing. In addition, I am greatly looking forward to playing my part in the prestigious Practice Design Competition which is set to receive a slight refresh for 2021 to reflect our Team Wellbeing aims.”
