Here are some do’s and
don’ts which might be of help in overcoming those fears.
Do
- talk to people you
trust can help.
- keep in contact your
friends and family.
- maintain a healthy
lifestyle including proper diet, sleep, and exercise.
- talk to a
health worker or counsellor if you feel overwhelmed
- get the facts from a credible source like local
health authorities or the government and the WHO websites.
- draw on skills you have used in the past to
manage life’s adversities and use these skills to help you manage your emotions
during the challenging time of this outbreak.
Do Not
- use smoking, alcohol,
or other drugs to deal with your emotions.
- keep your emotions of fears bottled up inside.
- spend too much time watching or listening to
media coverage that you find upsetting.
- be afraid to ask for help.
